A couple of years ago a nice assortment of them were in the Country Music Hall of Fame for a dedicated exhibit. It was really nice. If memory serves Duane Eddy did some of the narration for the audio tour.

Assuming the latest buyer made a good-faith legit purchase, that really stinks. The right thing to do is turn it over to the originsl owner who it was stolen from. If they are wealthy and generous, it would be nice to get a replacement or reward, but not entitled to it.
I wonder if the latest “owner” is able to deduct that loss when the tax man cometh? (If you just give it back with nothing in return)

I wonder what happened to his road manager? Doesn’t sound like it was entirely his fault, seems someone knew where to find the guitar…
