John Denver and Johnny Cash Duet: Rare video found
This video is reported to be a VHS copy of Johnny Cash and John Denver singing Take Me Home Country Roads that had been lost but recently found by a man searching his grandfathers old tape collection.
I'm not sure about the validity of the story, but it definitely is a gem of a duet that should be preserved. John Denver's harmony's alone make this worth a listen. Hopefully the owner of the tape can get this into professional hands to be remastered/restored. |

Wow, how great is that?
Johnny Cash was about the coolest guy in the music bidness back then. He played with everybody, including a bunch of up-and-coming folkies that were half his age, like Joni Mitchell. Thanks for posting!

When I got started playing guitar, I was a huge John Denver fan, and I wanted nothing more than a Yamaha like his L-53.

Quote:
I did wind up with a Yamaha L-20A form 1980. That is as close as I came, other than being privileged to play one of John's actual L-53's. It was on display in Aspen in 2006 and the owner allowed me to play it. If I remember correctly, this video was filmed at The Cash's Ranch. Cash's wife and son made an appearance on the video. It was aired on regular TV at the time.

Speaking of John Denver's guitars, Gruhn's has two of his for sale. One is 65K and the other is 70K USD...
