Default Maggi Custom acoustic

A few months ago I set my eyes on a very nice looking Cort, this:

.

To try one I would have had to drive a few hours so the only real option was to mail order it (Thomann).
I toyed with the idea for quite a while but in the end I decided to take an extra loan and have a trusted builder make 1 for me.
It will not have all the Cort's features but it will sound 10 times better (at least). The new guitar will have no bevels, no cutaway and no fan frets.

It will have, though, the best possible European spruce for the top, Pommele Mahogany (Sapele?) for back and sides,
laminated on the inside with a thin layer of cypress (to slightly raise the pitch of mahogany, I understand) and a soundport.
Neck will be of cypress while the fretboard of white ebony.
Maggi (the luther) has developed a quite unique type of lattice bracing for the top combined with a arched structure which connects top to bottom (too hard for me to explain in words).

Nut will be 47mm (I asked for this.. a hibrid half way-ish size between steel and nylon strings neck to accomodate my fingerstyle technique) with a scale of 640mm.
Slotted headstock with Rubner tuners.
I will post pics if/as or when the luther will send them over, In the meantime I have a few of some of the woods to be used.
As you can see from the pics, the sides have two shades dark/light while the darker patch of the back is just wet (the luther wetted the wood to show me how it would look like approximately once finished).

White Ebony

Here is a detail of the sounhole

No need to say that I am extremely excited. The guitar will take 4 to six months to complete and I already know it will be the best ever sounding guitar I will lay hands on.
About 10 years ago Mr. Maggi, who normally specializes in classical nylon strung guitars, made this 12strings guitar for me, so I know what he is capable of:

I will add pics and news as I get them.

The wood for the back and sides looks great, and that's even without finish.

I have not heard of Maggi guitars, is this Luciano Maggi or someone else?

Yes, it is Luciano Maggi. His workshop is on a sunny hill in Tuscany.
