Default Fishman Loudbox Mini charge

Brought my new charge to a outdoor gig last night.

16 piece big band the charge performed beautifully just the right volume with headroom to spare, and clean.

I keep the plug in mini in the car for a spare.

I will never go back to tubes.

Awesome! Glad you had a good outing with the Charge. I bought one and although I haven't gigged with it yet, I have been very happy with my testing of it. It's a phenomenal little amp!

I've heard that with other battery-powered units, the volume output goes down when running on battery power. Have you noticed that with the Mini Charge?

I hear no difference. between the charge and the plug in mini.

Me too and I did a reasonable test to see if it held up (as long as I could stand the racket).

However, the gain of any amp will not change between AC power and a battery. So switching between the battery and AC at reasonable volumes won't tell you much. What can change is the maximum volume before distortion and how long it can sustain that level of output before the battery compromises that. The Mini Charge is, I think, up to a three set gig with some margin.

This is true of any amp that uses a sealed lead acid battery. The power on SLA batteries falls off gradually over time. I have no experience with the Fishman Charge Mini, but I have seen it with other amps with the same battery type (Carvin, Crate, Elite Acoustics, Sunburst Gear).

This will be noticeable if you are using the amp at full volume on battery power for any length of time. If you are not at full volume, you probably won’t even notice it.

It’s similar to the experience my family had with an electric vehicle we rented at the beach one summer. We left the rental place whipping around pretty quickly. By the time we returned it, it was barely moving. It’s just the nature of lead acid batteries. They taper off towards zero output as they discharge.

Lithium batteries run full blast through their discharge cycle then suddenly stop outputting current at the end. A Bose S1 is going to give you full output right up until the moment it suddenly quits.

I'm not sure how long some of you guys use them for in a gig setting, but I've been running mine on battery for 5 hours so far and no loss of power yet. I've read that these can last up to 10 or 12 hours on a charge. That's a long time.

Thanks for the quick review. I have been considering one of these just for home/park/jam. If your purchase was recent, there is a rebate for a carrying case. Check this link to complete the form.

Default Just got the carry bag

Very nice bag.

Don't think I would pay $100 for it but 25 might do it.
