In my humble opinion, mahogany, and especially rosewood can never be polished to a totally smooth finish, and makers typically add a "filler" to fill up the tiny grooves left by - OK - silica - or whatever.
When the filler has dried, then the final finish is applied. Some makers fill better than others. Some over finish with many coats to block in those tiny grooves but deaden the resonance of the wood. I don't consider this a fault but an aspect of the wood.

If it's the finish off-gassing and shrinking and revealing the topography of the surface, that's normal.

Well, you could get some if you have a mobile device of some sort.
There is an app for the AGF, and one called tapatalk, which works with many different forums. Both allow you to post pictures as easily as Facebook or Instagram. Both are free. |

It's just salt from sweat. Try washing guitar with soapy water and Windex. Just kidding, I don't know.... Last edited by Song; 07-17-2018 at 03:58 PM. |
