It does take a real skill to hold that coffee cup and play the guitar — it’s worth working at. It sometimes messes with my tempo, not that important.

I bought an Aeropress based on people mentioning it favorably here, and I do love it a lot. Now my son has sent us a Bean Envy cold-brew pot. This thing has a central basket where you put the coffee; it's long and narrow, reaches the bottom of the 32 oz pot.
You just pour the water through the basket and there's a silicone seal lid to close it up. The coffee brews for 6 to 24 hours at room temp, in a dark area of the counter or in the fridge. Then you just pull out the basket and toss the grounds away. It makes for a delicious iced coffee, not at all bitter or acidic in flavor, nice pick-me-up in the afternoon. Sure, I can drink hot coffee on hot days, but iced coffee is nice too. I love it with lemon and Truvia. My husband likes it with coffee creamer.

Try that iced coffee shaken with a little unsweetened cocoa powder and almond milk. Yum!

My doc said if you don't drink coffee you would likely live to age 90. If you drink 5 cups of coffee per day you could only expect to live for 4 score years and 10.

I saw my primary care doc today for pre-op clearance for next week's wrist & arm surgery. Been having a rough go of it, what with allergies & asthma, and everything that used to do the trick seems to be doing squat. After tweaking my meds routine, he said "don't forget to have some good strong coffee, too." I remember that when a surprise asthma attack while on vacation sent me to the ER near Lake Geneva, WI 33 yrs. ago, the 911 operator told Bob he could drive me to the hospital in Elkhorn faster than the EMS could reach our resort--and that I should drink black coffee all the while I was in the car. And when my son used to get asthma attacks in grade school, the nurse used to brew him some very strong tea to drink after using his inhaler.
Caffeine: it isn't just for buzzing any more.

I read that too. I think you still need to look out for too much caffeine. I had some instant this morning and read a book on the back deck. Hopefully instant coffee counts too.

While dating, Tim called on me to go out on coffee dates often. It is my choice of drink anytime since Jr. high school days. On our wedding day as we were signing papers with the pastor, Tim said, "You know why I married you?" I had a smile and fluttered my eyelashes. He said, "Now that we are married I never have to drink coffee again." Awe ... true love.

Like to grind my own beans, simple #4 brown paper over mug, medium roast. Organic cream. I do 2 mugs approx. 3-4 cups every morning. I have a 22oz glass I sometime fill with ice and that is refreshing.

Just bought a tchotchke called a "CoffeeBoy." It's a stainless-steel travel mug with a mesh filter chamber...and a battery-operated grinder! So the only extras I'd need to pack are a mini-kettle and whole coffee beans. (Those hand-crank manual grinders are slooooow, and blade grinders weigh too much, require an outlet, and take up too much room).

All 4 of my grandparents lived well into their 90's so inspite of the fact that I drink a 1/2 pot of Sumatra a day, I'll probably still have a good 40 years left.
