Anyone know this Jean Larrivee Guitar?

Hi all,

I was at a friends house the other day and played this beautiful Larrivee. Loved the way it sounded and the feel of it.
I wanted to look it up online to get more info and see how much it is, but can't find the model anywhere.

Can anyone help me? Sadly only took 2 pictures. It was also smaller than any normal guitar I've played before.

Send it to Larivee via their web site. But, there should be a model number or some other info somewhere in the guitar.

I believe that is a P-19, looks like rosewood. But I'm not certain of the number nomenclature anymore. The letters describe the body, the numbers the level of ornamentation.

Have a look inside the guitar by the neck heelblock. I just had one checked out, and that is where the model info was stamped (though it was a 1990's model).

That label hasn't been used since 1996, if I remember correctly.

More than likely a 00-19; long out of production.

The -19 designation is between -09 and -10, indicating abalone rosette and fretboard inlays, but no abalone purfling. Some also had a subtle blue purfling line on the top. Body size seems to be a 00 (roughly 14.5"), which would fit the timing since the label of the guitar predates the first Larrivee parlors.

Custom service is excellent, so an email to them should quickly confirm.

Larrivee moved from Victoria to Vancouver around then, so probably around 20 years old. Probably a nice little parlour guitar.

Might be a 00, but I'm still thinking parlour. If you use the 6" long bridge as a scale, the lower bout looks closer to 13".

Either way, nice little chunk of guitar history.

Even if you're wrong that's a pretty impressive memory of Larrivee labels. I know there has been a bunch.

Just to add another unpredictable element to the mix, Larrivée guitars continued to have the "Made In Victoria" labels put in them for a while after they moved to the mainland. I believe the thinking was "Why waste perfectly good labels? Let's use 'em up."

In any event, this guitar predates the parlor models by several years. Those were a separate development.
