Make sure to post. I'm interested in your impressions of the basses.

I will definitely share my thoughts with everyone for the greater good. I've owned and played a lot of guitars. I'm down to 2 solid wood acoustics, with one of those for sale. If the x30 sounds as good as I hope, I will be ordering a synergy x20 harp from them as well in the next year or two.

This may be my favorite looking X30 I have seen so far. Gorgeous and fan fretted! Congratulations!

String T, I have played the X20 Synergy. They are pretty awesome. If I hadn't just gotten a Kestrel this year, that is likely what I would have already. I probably would have gotten one in 2018 when I was in Ireland except that I didn't have room in the car. I did play it for a few days while I was there until I had to give it back before leaving the area. That's when I sat back and thought for a while, then finally decided to order a custom and ended up going the Kestrel route instead.

Wow, what a beautiful guitar. The cocobolo is my favorite veneer that emerald does (although I like them all). I may have to put a cocobolo X30 on my short list of guitars I want.

The cocobolo is indeed beautiful in Emerald's glamour shots, but I've been told by other AGF members that the striking colors and grain are less apparent in normal lighting. I opted for Black Limba for my special order X30. BTW Jeff, welcome to the Acoustic Guitar Forum....

I'll echo RP and welcome you but, to be honest, I knew right away that you were new here (even without seeing the post count) because you say you have a "short list of guitars" you want...

Stick around awhile and you'll have a long list like the rest of us!

Phil

What are your thoughts on the neck and fingerboard? I've been daydreaming about the neck profile and if there are any guitars you have played with a similar feel?

Emerald emailed me this morning that it shipped, I should have it in 5-7 days!

As mentioned before the lighter wood extending beyond both ends of the fretboard look cool. As far as the size feel what would you compare it to?

Hi,

Mine is a fan fret with a 0.8 inch difference between bass and treble scales. It is a dream to play. The neck finish is very smooth and the profile is middle of the road depth and curve.
