How to use a Bluetooth pedal as a drum kick?
I was wondering if anyone had tried to use a Bluetooth page flip pedal as a drum kick through a tablet?
I think this would open some fun possibilities for busking or even living room jams... I figure it should be possible to assign the signal from the pedal to any midi instrument in a dedicated app (I have Audio Evolution) but has anyone actually done it? If so which pedal and which app did you use? I guess the two possible drawbacks would be : The pedal not being recognised as a midi controller The pedal having a latency that makes it unsuitable for this use.

Sounds like a great idea. I think you're concerns are valid. I would add another drawback - I wonder how well the pedal would hold up long-term under repeated use?

The present -standard- bluetooth protocol is unable to handle that because of latency.
There are numerous ways to achieve such goal, crude piezo triggering being the simplest. When busking, think convenience and reliability. Not the place for sophisticated set-ups. Sorry to rain on the parade. |
