You'd think they could at least tune it for the demo video.

This one's gonna be pretty polarizing. Hmm.

Outside the norm will do that. I might like it on a smaller guitar, it think it can fit in with sort of a Western swing groove kinda thing.

Default My odd Martin now looks normal

My 00016c with the oval sound hole that offended Martin traditionalists gets a reprieve. No longer the oddest of Martins.

Further good news is that this new Bigsby doesn't even stir GAS in me, not in the least bit.

To each their own, this abomination is not for me.

Yeah, that was pretty grating.

Call me crazy, but I think the guitar is kinda cool. I’d never buy it, but I think it would be a really unique stage guitar for someone more interesting than I am.

I love it, I think as a tribute to one of the most important players in the acoustic guitar's history it is a worthwhile project (and in fact it's not the first Merle Travis inspired Martin, there was a run in 2007-2008 if memory serves that also featured his inlays and pick guard.) and I think, if you appreciate the heritage, it looks very cool indeed.

That is one butt ugly guitar.

They should have added the ugly pick guard as well.

You need a Nudie suit to play that!

Paul Bigsby was making solid body electric guitars before Fender or Gibson and used the inline six headstock tuner pattern years before Leo Fender borrowed the design. Yes early Martin's also used that same design.

I am not sure why Bigsby put his neck on a Martin D28 and presented it to Travis but I agree the guitar is ugly. Especially the crazy pickguard.

Much as I’d like to, I find it impossible to appreciate the design of the headstock... especially coupled with a dread body.
Glad some folks like it though...
