Uhmmm...yup. But it also works as a good dependable and inexpensive amp stand for a lightweight acoustic combo. And I can buy them all day for about $10 on eBay. I've been sitting an amp on one for 4 years now and I haven't had to replace it yet.

I would never have thought of that!
Not high enough for my needs, but effective if you want a low stand with a bit of tilt, I guess.

It works great if you play sitting, your amp is a few feet behind you, or when you are on a stage and don't want to shoot over the heads of your audience.

It works for little financial output. While 6' of elevation clears the heads of the majority of audiences, a bit of isolation disciouples some of the bass. Ric

Here are a couple of pics from a small show I played last night with my Fender Acoustic 100 on the guitar stand. It covered the room perfectly and as you can see the angle allowed me to hear myself great.

Hi FW
I use keyboard stands, waist high, and about 3-5 feet directly behind me. You really do need to elevate an amp at least a couple feet (24"-30") off the ground to get rid of the over-bassy effect from an amp being too close to a floor. If you want even more bass, set it on the floor & then back it up to a wall! It can trigger feedback as well. I liked the picture of the small amp stand which has a platform level to the floor. That would be wonderful (I often have to throw a piece of plywood on top of a keyboard stand to fit my smaller acoustic amp). With the amp at waist level directly behind me, I hear it better than a floor monitor, cleaner than a monitor, and with better fidelity than most floor monitors. |

This is a quick and dirty solution, but worked pretty well for my Loudbox Mini Charge.

Amp stand?
I prefer the Musician's Gear Deluxe Amp Stand. Very sturdy, adjustable height and folds for transport and it’s only $19.95.
