Default Singapore GP

A blistering pole by Hamilton on a track at which Ferrari were meant to dominate. Great 2nd from Verstappen. Realistically, Vettel needs a Hamilton DNF to get his title challenge back on track.

The good news Lewis is you're on pole...

The bad news - you've got Max next to you

Actually, Max has been a lot more controlled of late so hopefully they'll have a good clean start.

Lewis is on fire at the moment and Seb is burning up. If he stops making silly mistakes he could still catch Lewis but he'll need the Mercedes to have a bit of bad luck as well.

It will be an unmissable start , but then, aren't they all?

I love the season, and like to see good driving and the occasional crash of course, increasingly confident that drivers won't suffer injury or worse.

I have no particular affiliation with any team, Lewis is a Brit which is cool, Young Max really has the potential to beat both in future seasons, with ther right car.

Rather sad to see Williams un-competitive.

The Singapore tracks is SCARY all those walls AND driving at sunset!
all a bit "Tron".

Won't miss it!
Gotta get to the gym, do my bit for the joints and cycle back and prepare the evening meal veggies before I join the Sky team at 1.p.m. BST.

Heard during qualifying that LeClerc would be going to Ferrari next year. Any word on Raikonnen? Will he be retiring or is he looking for another ride? I seem to remember he had to get special dispensation from the FIA when he came to F1 because he was too young to have a road license.

Kimi back to Sauber - where he started. Glad he's not going, he's a great character.

That might be pretty cool, former F1 champion driving for Sauber. I'm guessing I'll be seeing Alonso here next May. He made quite an impression this year.

Lap 9 or 10 (keep getting timed out on AGF here)

Verstappen has lost a place to to Vettel (shame) but his engineer told him to "relax and be patient".

Sky commentator just ... commented "Max is 20yrs old. He's in a great racing car. He's in Singapore. He should relax?

Made me laugh!

Tempers flaring - Perez and Sirotkin, not playing nice!

Once again Ferrari adopted the best strategy................ For Mercedes.

I don't understand why they put the faster tyres on Vettel's car only to drive slower than the slow tyres to tease them to the end of the race. When they put them on I thought they were going to attack for the lead in the hope there might be another safety car towards the end but they seem to be battling themselves at the moment.

Great drive by Lewis - 69 F1 wins, 69 different hairstyles.

Bad day for force India but was Perez having a strop?

He is a very experienced professional driver but if you judged him just from this race you'd say he was , well something else.
Sirotkin was "getting in his way" but surely he had a right to defend his position.

More news on this coming along I suspect.

I think Perez can be a bit hot and cold but there is absolutely no respect between him and Ocon which is not good for the team.

Anthony Davidson made an interesting point on Sky TV later yesterday when he examined the on board footage from Perez's car. As Ocon was alongside, Perez clearly straightened out his steering wheel mid corner, effectively turning his car into Ocon at the point of impact. This kind of thing earned him the drive through later when he collided with Sirotkin.
