$50 price drops

"Beloved" in the description ALWAYS equals a hopelessly overpriced guitar.

We have long time members with a long history of selling that still have never put in the 5 minutes to learn how to post a photo.

BS reasons for selling... "Just too many guitars" or "need the cash" yet trades considered.

Martins in particular ... priced above what they can be purchased for new.

Last acoustic I was gonna sell. I pulled from the case. Cut strings off. Polished frets with fret erasers. Oiled fret board. Polished guitar, Restrung. Played for an hour. Put back in the case. "I'm not selling a guitar that plays that well.

My Pet hates are YouTube videos about their newest stock, but especially "vintage" guitars.

1. Some conceited wiseass punk wearing a studded leather jacket to play very valuable guitar!

2. Anybody that demos an acoustic by playing like a Fender Telecaster or some such.

3. You know I'm a guitar history nerd. Sales guys reviewing/showing a guitar and not knowing the history behind them.

4. Ads on Ebay/Reverb that despite knowing that you are using the UK version show you guitars at ridiculously inflated prices from Japan.

5. Ads describing lesser known small luthier guitars without mentioning the dimensions, nut width scale etc.

Thinks: why does the AGF "bot" automatically pick up Japanese ebay ads, but not European Ebay ads?

That'll do for now before the steam starts blowing out of my ears.

I want to play these Guild baritones - in spite of these videos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61Wuy4yPZAI

- Out of tune (all playing is too painful to listen to)
- Low skill level - Ok but - attempting to play above own skill level; especially playing well known tunes so badly - AND out of tune?
- (at 1:06) calling the single strings "single pairs"
- Struggling to explain what a "baritone" is ... (i.e., a 27" scale does not mean 2 more frets from the nut) ...
I couldn't make it to the end of this one.. by " Acoustic Guitar Magazine"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PRxVz0S0wc
-Intense guitar faces (I can't wait to try out while I strum one)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs_LxI44T6k
- All hip dude - very little focus on the guitar.

1. Used guitar ads that misspell "Acustic" guitar
2. Cheap guitar being hyped as rare or limited edition!
Just because your laminate home shopping network guitar has a sticker that says limited edition does not make it desirable.

Generally speaking, I like a shot against a solid background with a minimum of other items in the picture to distract from the guitar. The polar opposite of that is a filthy room with dirty dishes/socks/food wrappers littered around.

When buying a used item you want to think the person who owned it last took good care of it. If they can't even be bothered to clear away the trash from the frame of the photo, I think it's a good bet they don't clean their hands frequently, let alone their guitar.

A John Pearse Armrest is the biggest turn off,..

Asking for PayPal Gift/Friends and Family payment is equally effective in deterring me from any interest in the guitar or seller.

always makes me wonder too.

Saw the same serial # guitar that has been bought and sold 5 or 6 times in the last 3 years; twice here, several times on reverb all around the country, FB marketplace, etc...no one kept it over 3 to 6 months...each seller made the same "amazing/best sounding/etc..." comments. And the asking price has increased over $1k in the last 12 months---red flag?

Not if your a "Polisher", not a "Player"...

And some guys just love to flip guitars, more than they love to play them, and they love the chase much much more than the catch.

NOPE!...

Those guys always, ALWAYS want top dollar and they will wait for heck to freeze over to get it.

They don't NEED the money...they WANT the money...ALL of it!

Payment by Paypal F&F

Sure...take away any protections the buyer might have on the sale and violate Paypal's TOS to boot...just lovely.

A real quality seller move for sure...ummm...no...not so much

And yes...lousy pictures and vapid descriptions devoid of important details, especially on high dollar, $3K and up guitars, and double especially when the seller really reps hard on the Brazilian Rosewood, or African Blackwood or other dark colored exotic back and sides, but offers little or no, or super dark lousy pictures so you can't see the wood grain and color at all.

Gross dad toenails in the photo. Either edit it out or put some shoes on.

Sincerely,
A runner with really gross feet.
