Can anyone recommend a good Set up Tech in Clearwater/Tampa FL

Hey All,

Due to CV-19 I was able to get an HD28 online, but the action is a bit high and as I am new to this area have never had any guitars properly set up down here.

If anyone can recommend someone in this general area I would appreciate it.

I highly recommend Joel or David Hosler at Seven C Music in St Pete. They are Martin and Taylor authorized. They are first rate luthiers and have a lot of experience. I have been very happy with work they’ve done for me.

Also Guitar Repair oF Tampa Bay or Ken Blount in Sebring who is authorized Martin Repair. Plenty of good options here.

I am going to have to second this recommendation. These guys do impeccable work. David is retired from Taylor in CA and Joel worked there....Just beware because they have some VERY nice guitars here.

I third this (motion carried) - Great guys that do great work! And yes, they have some nice guitars in there! A side note, they did a really great thing while they were shut down during Covid 19 lockdown - let local musicians come in and do a couple of songs on their Facebook page and gave them $50 to help support the local music scene. Please try to pay it forward by supporting them with repair work or accessory / guitar purchases. For those who may not know - David was the original engineer on the ES system development at Taylor.

So cool, I am going to definitely take my stuff in there for set ups etc...I can’t wait to get back up north so I can grab my H&D which will also need some love!

I'll add another thumbs up for Seven C's. FYI, they are also a Martin dealer and authorized repair center. Finally the key repair person is Hunter Allen. Hunter used to work and live in Nashville. Worked on a lot of celebrity owned guitars, inc' Willie Nelson's Trigger. Your Martin will be in very good hands.
