Be still my beating heart.

If I lived in Ireland I'd be down in a flash to offer unsolicited suggestions and generally be annoying. I'm pretty excited to see how these come out.

Is there going to be any videos on the squareneck? Is it a spider, tricone or biscuit?

I would have thought the X30 body size would be a bit big for the weissenborn to sit on a lap - but I'm sure Alistair knows what he's doing!

Looking forward to more installments.
I honestly knew nothing off this untill i seen the video myself! Ill ask alistair for more details when im next talking to him! ☺️

How come, when I go to the visuals, I only get the left hand part?

Maybe try the Facebook version? No idea if these need a login or not.

No issues, thank you, interesting stuff.

I like the curves and general shape of the guitar. Except for the sides of the headstock which seem to me abrupt and not as flowing-into-the-neck as the backside.

Loving this series of videos.

Re the headstock asymmetry as discussed by Alistair - not usually a fan on acoustics but in this case I think it works well. It could also make it a bit easier to tune, which I always find slightly awkward on lap instruments.
I posted this question on the facebook video as well, but was wondering what the nut width is going to be.

Simon@emerald - I sent a pm, did you get it?

TDQ is on it! First there is the eye contact. Then there are personal letters and likes and dislikes are established. This could be leading to personal contact. This is looking like a great long-distance affair.

It has been a really nice respite to see these videos. I hope to see Alistair keep them coming!

Ha - I wish it was leading into something serious - just was replying to some of Alistair's points from his videos. I'm just super interested in this one. Way back when I had the Lucky 13 on the roadtrip I did a bit of lap steel on it and thought it worked really well (The lucky 13 has a hollow neck). I have a wooden weissenborn and this CF build just seems to me like a perfect thing. I can see it in a dark cocobolo veneer.

P.S. Evan - While poking around on the Emerald youtube channel I saw a video on your X-10 slimline build. I hope you are enjoying it - looks terrific.
