I picked this guitar up on Amazon for $169 by taking out an Amazon credit card(they took $200 off the price of the guitar and gave me 12 months interest free on top of that. That’s silly stupid.) I bought all the upgraded parts with the savings. This hot rod build was a no brained finance wise!

I would put this neck on any American made Telecaster all day long. It’s really that good and more.
Thanks for checking in Tony.

What a great deal! $200 bucks off to get the credit card. Worth it. I subscribe to Phil's Know Your Gear channel and I've watched his EART review - They seem like great guitars.

DannyBoy is in town and we started off last night at an open-mic to shake off some dust! He wowed the crowd(he is a killer mandolin player) while I added six string support and my stellar vocal stylings! Today we start dismantling the project Guitar… Here is a shot from last night.

Wow, great photo, Frank! It's great to see you and your son out with your instruments! It's interesting to read that Danny is good on the mandolin! That's very cool!

We talked and laughed about old times as we began the disassembly of this little hot rod. Oh, good times.

Tuning machines, brass saddles, shielding tape in the pickup cavities today. Started sizing up the replacement pick guard. That may be a little tricky. You see, it’s a fender pearloid guard, but this is not a fender guitar. A little finessing will be in order. We’ll see tomorrow.

The more I teach him and show him now, the more he will teach his son or daughter long after I’m gone. Some more tweaks tomorrow.

Hey Frank, how did it go with the new intonation technique?

And also how did the pickguard truss rod access hole go with the dremel and sandpaper?

I like the look of the mods, I especially like the smaller tuner buttons which to me me look better with the headstock!

So, i followed the directions(always a good thing)
New strings, set the string height, hold the guitar in playing position. Perfect. Great intonation at the 12th fret, except I decide to put a quarter turn of tension on the truss rod, only to find the rotary wheel is frozen solid. EART is aware of my issue so lets see how this plays out(pardon the pun)

Lets just say its serviceable, but it ain't pretty!!! I may order another pick guard after i get this neck issue sorted. I needed a jig to follow. Freehand is not a good option for me.😂

The mini locking Gotoh’s dropped right in. They are terrific.

Thank you Joe! Dano and I have been playing side by side since he was eight years old. He started on electric bass with electric guitar on the side. Got into Berklee School of Music playing mandolin. He is an in demand pedal steel guitarist in the St. Louis music scene, along with his proficiency on the other gear listed. I am incredibly proud of him. He surpassed me by time he was eighteen years old. You know what they say…and the student becomes the teacher.

So as Dano and I are finalizing the setup on this new little mod job hot rod I sight the neck and say let’s add a quarter turn to the truss rod and take out a touch of relief. Lo and behold the rotary wheel is frozen solid. Absolutely no movement left or right.

I send an email to China (and what does EART stand forI learn,
ELECTROACOUSTIC ART) on Sunday night and just got a response that a new neck is on its way! I can’t help but love these guys.
