I have not found a Tele that suits me. I've played a ton of them and I always go back to my Strat. I am in constant search mode for one, however. Perhaps that is the definition of chronic persistent GAS?
I do know one thing, however. When I do find the the right Tele to bring into my collection it will be tuned to open G and the first string will be removed. At least for the first few hours....

I built a thin lightweight Tele shaped body but put in the belly cut and arm bevel. I did a bad thing of using a pair of three per side tuners. It was only a test guitar, will make another one yet. Also only one pickup. Pretty sure the next one will have the Tele two pickup arrangement.
