Default Christmas songs, HELP!!

My Pastor just informed me today that I will be leading our Christmas service on the 19th. Anyone have any suggestions for easy and pretty Christmas songs that will be guitar (strum ) friendly. Our team will be very limited so I have to make the best use of guitar songs .

Away in a Manger is always a good one (either version). I do it in D which, as we all know, is the center of the Universe. For something upbeat, you ought to check out Bruce Cockburn's version of "Angels We Have Heard On High". He does it in French on his Christmas album... and it uses the French title, too... but it would be easy enough to do in English. It rocks!

Little Drummer Boy is also a good one... you can play it with a lot of sus2's and no third chords and it can be killer.

"Silent Night" in G is a pretty easy one to master.

Try http://www.guitarhymns.com - there's a Christmas section there.

I've got some nice ones that aren't hard. I'll dig them up and send them to you if you like.

Thanks Lisa, I would like to nail these down early this year. I did the same thing last year and the team fell apart on the folk (Caedemans Call) version of It Came Upon A Midnight's Clear. Send to [email protected]

Look for "The Best Christmas Guitar Fake Book Ever". Over 150 songs. It lists melody and chords for each song. The melody lines are in standard notation and TAB

They have it at elderly if you're interested

My apologies to those who I emailed these charts to. Classicalman pointed out to me that I sent several that were just words with no chords....

You guys got the transparency masters *she said sheepishly* Sawwwy, I'll get on it and re-send.

Try this link for more tabs

http://www.higherpraise.com/MusicMidi.htm

The christmas songs are intermingled with the other songs but most seem to be fairly accurate.
