I'm about 150 pages into this Dean Koontz book. It's fantastic. I've read a couple of dozen of Koontz's books and all of Stephen King's and this one reminds me of King.

An excellent resource (if you are not familiar with it) is Turn of the Century Editions. My library access has been a bit diminished, recently, for some reason so I have been buying a lot of books over the past year, now, from them.

So far, I have learned quite a few new things about the Stickley clan in this book.

Do you have any Stickley pieces? I have my first new piece on order from the modern Audi/Stickley company (2020CE table), but I do have some older "used" furniture, from Gustav (1912 #819 sideboard; C. 1905-1911 #354 1/2 V-back armchair; C. 1903-04 #604 lamp table), and one each from L. & J.G. (C. 1912-17 #816 armchair) and Charles (C. 1910 #1599 trestle library table).

I’m about halfway through The Jersey Boys, by Sally Mott Freeman. It’s a very well written account of 3 brothers and their interconnected lives during WW2, in the Pacific theatre.

I’m thoroughly enjoying this one.

No, I don’t have any actual Stickley pieces.....but I am building a dining room table to his trestle table design out of hickory we milled, and my brother-in-law has built us Stickley-inspired coffee table and end tables. Next I’m building a bench and chairs to go with the dining room table.

I just finished “Randy Wood: The Lore of the Luthier” by Daniel Wise, University of Tennessee press.

It was worth the time.

I'd love to see photos of yours and your BIL's work.

I'm reading the journals of Jonathan Carver an ex British officer that explored the French territory of Wisconsin and Minnesota in 1766. It amazing how intelligent he was and the knowledge of science and physics that he applied in 1766. The description of the Indians is awesome. It's a pdf file I found.

That sounds really interesting! Thanks for the heads up.

I just finished this one in three sittings. Once I got started I couldn’t put it down. Written by a dear friend from college who now lives in Ireland.

"I Was There When It Happened: My Life With Johnny Cash" by Marshall Grant. The most fascinating book on Cash that I've read and I've read them all.
