Default The Rickenbacker 360-12 12-string electric

For those interested in the Ric 360 12-string sound, I recently put up a recording of an old Byrds song in Show & Tell HERE.

Hope all are well!

Great job, Glenn. The Rickenbacker 360/12 is just a gorgeous sounding guitar. I have 2 of them now. I have a mapleglow like your model and just picked up a 360/12C63.

Thanks for posting.

Nice work Glen,

Nothing like the jangle of a 12 string Rickenbacker!

Hi Steel and Wood!

Yeah, it's not a sound everyone goes for, but when you love it -- I certainly do -- there is nothing like it! Every time I hear the opening of the Byrds' "Turn, Turn, Turn" my adrenaline level jumps by a factor of 10!

Be well!

I'm much better at collecting guitars than playing them.

I figured this thread needs some photos...

Are you guys running the stock pickups in your Ric 12 strings? A friend of mine is considering a set of Gemini Toaster Pickups for his Ric 12.

Hi Snoopster,

I am using the standard pickups. I think they sound great, but that doesn't mean things couldn't be improved, either.

Mine are both stock. My 360/12C63 has the toaster pickups and the 360/12 has the high gain pickups. Both are good for my purposes.

I was in awe of that Rickenbacker when I first saw your video. Beautiful guitar and I love those old Byrd songs. Takes me back to the garage band days. Thanks for posting it, I really enjoyed it.

Thank you John!

I know exactly what you mean about being taken back to the garage band days. While I was in the midst of recording that video and I had the same feeling. My wife told me the sound was like being at a street dance way back 50+ years ago.

Thanks for listening and for your kind words John! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this!

Be well!
