Default Any of you use a whole-house Air Cleaner?

There is a constant film of very fine dust in my house and we can't get rid of it no matter what we do. Anyone here using a whole-house HEPA filter air cleaner (i.e. attached to the furnace)? If so, was it worth it? Does it work? How's the dust level? etc, etc... Thanks

Yes and it helps, but you’ll still have dust, just less of of it.

A lot of central air systems can be fitted with them. We have one and have less dust, but filters that need periodic cleaning or replacement.

I've had two kinds, electronic and passive media (cardboard). When servicing either kind, do you best to reach inside the air box with a vacuum and pick up (lots of) stray dust.

As a follow up and FYI to those who may find this beneficial, I pretty much cured the "dust" problem in my house by switching to distilled water in the humidifiers I use. The very fine calcium (?) film created when using tap water is no longer present with distilled water. Simple trick, quick fix. I have purchased a water distiller and it serves my needs well. Hope this helps someone.

Longtime dust mite allergy sufferer here. We use Blueair air filters in our house, especially the bedrooms. The advantage is that they cycle even when the heat/AC isn't running, which is a lot this time of year in Florida. You can also crank them up high for an hour before going to bed without affecting the temperature. A good quality HEPA vacuum is also a great ally.
