Default My first Bourgeois (What to expect?)

Just picked up this JOMc from CME!

From what I understand this particular body is a tad bigger than an OM and a tad smaller than say a 0000 ?

The top is Italian bear claw spruce with Brazilian back/sides. This is my first Bourgeois so what should I expect tonally?

Thanks

By the looks of it, expect a lot of slobber!

Way to Glow!

One great thing you can expect is the medium neck. At least that's what my friends JOMc had and a SJ I had, as well.
One of my favorite carves.

Also Dana's compound radius with low action can really be fast!

Congrats! It looks awesome.

But, I'm confused. Why are you asking what to expect? You said you picked it up right? You haven't played it yet?

Well it's in route from CME. I live near Seattle but I got 2 day shipping so I am expecting it Wed or Thurs. I "paid" for it a couple hours ago

Congrats! I’ve been drooling over that guitar in CMEs site. I have a Bourgeois JOM with far more pedestrian apppointments and different woods but expect it to be incredibley balanced and a dream to play. Wow that’s a gorgeous ax!

Congrats! The JOM is my favorite body size. It’s a jumbo OM, but, I would say it’s more a mini dread sound to my ears. Bourgeois Guitars May not be as loud as others but sound more musical and sweeter than other builds I’ve played. Crisp clear and balanced...you’re gonna love that JOMC! Have fun.

Congrats on your Bourgeois, beautiful guitar, Dana makes good stuff, had a Country Boy Deluxe years ago.

Bourgeois necks/nut width are very comfortable, and his voicings are more traditional/vintage, like Martin/Collings/Santa Cruz, which is a good thing to me, not a modern voicing fan.

A Brazilian Bourgeois should be a wonderful guitar, I would expect to be thrilled...

What with how that guitar looks, who cares how it sounds.
Seriously though, I'd expect shimmering highs and full very articulate lows.

Just play it and listen and have some one else play it and listen what you hear is what I'd expect tonally from it. Nothing more nothing less.
