The greatest of all time soul singer. One of the most memorable shows I ever saw was Feb. 1971 at the Fillmore West. Aretha and Ray sang a duet. Two giants, the like of never to be seen again. RIP.

Man...that had to be an awesome moment in time. Sorry to hear of her passing. Her's was an amazing voice...regardless of genre. May she rest in peace...God's Speed Aretha.

Isn't that the joy of recordings, and in particular her recordings! May people always be able to find and hear that voice, those gospely piano chords and feel that, what? Energy, sublime expression, healing force--oh well, might as well just call it soul.
