NGD (used) Guild F-130
I previously posted a thread that I was looking at a used Guild F-130 (all solid, spruce/mahogany) at GC. Well, I did go back and get it. I have had it for almost a week now and I love it. As I previously wrote, it is literally like new, not a mark on it, anywhere. It was either rarely played or just extremely well taken care of. I initially went to GC to look at something else but this one caught my eye. I have read others say that they connect or bond with an instrument and I guess that’s what happened to me. I knew when I played it in the store it just was a good fit, physically and emotionally. I find it very resonant, clear and articulate. Projects very well. It has more of a flat or slim C shaped neck. Which I find that I like quite a bit. It does have a 1.75” neck with 2.25” string spacing. I think moving forward, I now prefer the wider neck. The set up is nice, has low action, which I now understand why that can be preferable. I find it so much easier to play, with much less effort needed to finger chords, especially up the neck. It just feels like I can move around quicker and easier. Not that my Yamaha is bad, I just now know it is on the high side, and needs to have a set up done. Hey, it was my first guitar, so what did I know. I did contact Córdoba to see if I could get any info on this guitar. Turns out to be a 2011 production year model, and of course, made in China. Which doesn’t bother me. The fit and finish is great and it sounds amazing. I know I am biased, but in the end, all that matters is that I can’t wait to pick it up and play it. That’s all you can hope for.

Very nice. Some people prefer the GAD (Guild Acoustic Design) series, like that one, to the current Westerly Collection. It looks quite like a fancier version of the New Hartford built equivalent, the F-30 standard.
(Of course, Guild fans are known for preferring guitars made from particular factories, or even particular years at particular factories.) |

Beautiful guitar. Looks like you've found a keeper!
My only Guild at the present time is a jumbo 12-string made in China. It sounds as good or better than any 12-string I've yet played. |

Very cool! I missed your earlier thread or would have said "buy it!!"
I had the same guitar in the sunburst version and thought it was a wonderful, versatile, comfortable, great-sounding guitar. You really don't need anything else with that in your stable. Enjoy! |

Well done! I love my Guilds, and I expect their "offshore" entries are also excellent, especially coming out of the highly regarded Grand Reward workshop. They're made to be played!

Congratulations hammer, smart move to go back and buy the one you played which spoke to you. It is a great looking guitar, love the shape, lines and the iconic Guild headstock. Enjoy it for a long, long time. Yes this is dave from UU, saw your post and just had to respond.

There’s nothing better than a NUGD. Someone else paid full price, like I’ve done many times, and you get a great guitar at a discount, as I’ve also done many times.
