SOLD! 2000 Taylor 655 CE 12 String
SOLD! I special ordered this Taylor 12 string in 2000. I am the original and only owner.
It has a nice, tightly grained Spruce top and Big Leaf Maple back and sides. There is a transparent pickguard on the top. It is equipped with Taylor/Fishman Prefix piezo electronics. The guitar shows light wear. I take great care with my instruments and, with the exception of a few light pick marks on the guard, it is in near new condition. It comes with two new sets of strings, all the Taylor paperwork, the truss rod tool, and the original Taylor custom fit hard case. My price is $2,490. I am not shipping internationally at this time. I only accept PayPal and will only ship to a PayPal verified address. Please use the private message feature on this forum to ask questions or to buy this guitar. I prefer a cash deal, but will consider trades for Hilton 4 string, 32 inch scale basses, if in as new condition. A footnote: I am selling the remainder of my acoustic guitar collection. I have one other guitar remaining, which will be listed soon: a 1962 Martin 000-28C conversion. If this guitar is of interest, please drop me a note and I will provide details at your request. These are kind of "magical" 12 strings to me. I had one for two days back in 2001 and enjoyed every second of it. I returned it on day 3 after learning that I would need back surgery the same day that I bought it. I knew I'd be off work for five to six weeks after surgery and it seemed irresponsible to keep the guitar. I always meant to get another but never did. Someone will really be happy with this one.

Thanks for the great comment. Joe.
This particular model 12 string is the best sounding 12 I've ever played, and I have played several dating back to sometime between 1963 and 1965. The Maple with Spruce gives it that appropriate "jangley" sound, yet it is quite full. And, as one might expect, it projects well and is very articulate. This model has been discontinued for several years and this is a rare opportunity to pick one up in super condition. It has been babied all its life. |
