Default Off the Rails -- original played on a Furch Yellow

Hi everyone-- here's a new original from me.

The title has been tough one to figure out. Runner-ups were "An Unreasonable Beast" or "Who's Playing Who" because this piece is one that has been making me a little crazy as it's evolved over time. (For info: one track played all the way straight through...then, just some quick and dirty post eq and a touch of reverb.)

Anyway, I really hope you like it. (Extra points for anyone who listens all the way through... Yes, I know. )

That was lovely Aimelie!

Kind of a magic sound with all those high-frequencies coming through, and then the palm muted stuff! A lot of action going on there! And about 2/3rds of the way through you went a little major on the voicings you were using. And I liked the change of pace at the ending.

Those sound like very light strings. Are those the Elixir Nanoweb Phosphor Bronze 10-47’s?

Well done! Thanks for sharing this!

- Glenn

Thanks so much, Glenn!

Yes, it’s bit charged, isn’t it?

Also, yes, for the strings.

I hesitated on this one, but it’s my husband’s favorite—so, here it is, warts and all.

(Also, no palm muting. The muting and rhythmic pulse is all left hand and left hand thumb muting the bass E string for percussive effect.)

Thanks for the feedback Aimelie!

I didn't hear any warts!

Be well!

Thanks, Bob! Thanks, Barry!

I sincerely appreciate your support.

I’m pretty sure I have to look at condensing this down to a length that’s a little less demanding of listeners.

(Also, I really have to sit down and figure out EQ’ing stuff. For this, I just used an acoustic guitar preset in the stock EQ plugin on Cubase and now I regret it. Even the untreated sound file has more depth than the silly preset. Oh well—live and learn, I guess.)
