Hi Mkel12,
I love your sound. The guitar is authentic and the harmony on the vocals is exquisite.
Thanks for sharing.
Rene

I think that's the first time I've ever heard anyone cover that song. Beautiful. Haronies are so tight! Flows so well.

Stephen Stills really did write music in a variety of styles.

very well done. the original version (and csny in general) always reminds me that ultimately the human voice is so much more reassuring to me than the sound of an instrument, even though i prefer to listen to non-lyrical music nowadays. your version similarly reminded me of the power of the human voice.

cheers.

Thanks, Barry, Remy and Sparrow for the kind words. The two retired guys are working on Helplessly Hoping now, and hope to post our effort here in the coming days.

Hey Mike! First, my apologies. I actually did start listening to this a while back and my first thought was that it was about 1/2 the tempo of the original and I bailed. That's on me. I suck as a listener! Hey, I'm being honest.

I need to listen for what you (whoever is presenting) are trying to do, and not listen for 'reproduction' of the original.

The guitar work is excellent here, and the vocals are (as expected) very full. There is a spectrum of frequencies where vocals can live comfortably with the instrument, and it seems like Ron is very gifted at blending that sonic space.

Keep going! This is really good stuff!

I think you’re right, GITM. Ron has a magical touch. On this one, he plays the bold, drop-tuned guitar part on his HD-28, and I add the Stills lead with my Taylor.

Excellent work from both of you! I neglected to state the obvious on my last post: it doesn't matter how well you mix the vocals if the vocals aren't on point! You guys are doing great work on the individual tracks. The mixing/doubling is just icing on the cake!

Hey GITM, thanks very much for the kind words. Truth be known, there's also a little luck involved when we produce a good sounding mix. In addition to his awesome music skills, Mike has a very good ear and pays close attention to details and that helps out a bunch.

Glad you enjoyed the songs and I appreciate all the feedback! Ron
