Default Rose Leaf Rag ( S. Joplin ) 1907

Hy , guitarists from U.S.A.

It took some weeks to me in order to listen, translate from piano to guitar, learning in memory this tune and finally to make a video.

This is "Rose Leaf Rag". Another classic and funny rag to play in fingerpicking on our beloved guitar.

Hope someone will take a look and his ears to give a feedback.

Here for you.

Nice playing on that, however almost had a seizure from the blinking lights.

A "two-step" ragtime song! Nice choice and fun to listen to.

Tnx for listening.

As usual, if there is someone interested about the tune : I might send you my tab, summed in the pentagram/tab with the correct chord positions in the fretboard the fingers mustbe placed in.

It's in standard tuning. And in F tonality.

P.S. I would say many thankyou to all the admins of this forum, who spend their times to listen and give attention to every player.

Nice playing! There is just something about these ragtime tunes played on guitar. All too often on piano, players rush through them as if it were a race to the finish line. On guitar, players seem to let the tunes breathe so they come across in the stately manner that (at least according to Scott Joplin) they were intended to be played. As a result, I prefer to listen to ragtime played on the guitar.

I agree. However There are some nice piano interpreters who played slowly ragtime original and give back the sweet feeling of composition

Flower compositions gladiolus rose leaf etc etc

Tnx for listening

Hi acousticland,
I thoroughly enjoyed this performance.
Not an easy tune to play live!
Great tone and love the lefty playing.
Thanks for sharing!

you're gentle.

For me the "lefthandness" is a ****ation: can't play and test guitars of other owners.

Yes. It's not easy to play live. But if you practice music in your room for hours, days, maybe some guy in the world, for job, could try to exhibit that one, without emotional gaps.

Wow! What an intricate arrangement! Ragtime seems to translate so elegantly to the guitar. Thank you for sharing!
