Default 2007 Martin D-28 Marquis Madagascar **SOLD

Here’s your chance to own one of only 143 regular production Martin D-28 Marquis Madagascar guitars built between 2007 and 2009. These guitars do not become available very often. The D-28 Marquis has legions of fans and when paired with Madagascar Rosewood in limited numbers, they become legendary. Apart from the Golden Era bracing and Adirondack spruce top, the D-28MM offers a 1 3/4” nut width, modified V neck, and 2 5/16” spacing at the bridge.

This guitar is absolutely mint. I have inspected it closely and there is not one scratch, ding, dent, swirl, crack or other cosmetic flaw. You will not find a cleaner example anywhere. The guitar is all original except for the beautiful Waverly tuners that have replaced the stock tuners (these are a straight drop in—no modifications whatsoever were made to the guitar). It has been kept in a non-smoking, climate controlled environment and carefully monitored for humidity and temperature. I bought this guitar a couple of years ago from another forum member who bought it as a collector piece. There is no discernible fret wear or play marks. Not even a scratch on the pickguard!

Structurally the guitar is rock solid. There are zero issues. The neck angle is spot on. A straight edge laid across the frets touches the bridge right at the top—which is ideal. A measurement from the top of the guitar to the bottom of the low E string at the bridge comes in at exactly 1/2”, which indicates good neck angle. Action measures the typical Martin 7/64” on the low E and 3/32” on the high E at the 12th fret with plenty of saddle left to go lower. Superb playability. No finicky notes. No intonation issues.

I’m selling this guitar because at the end of day I’m a small-body guitar guy and I just don’t play this lovely dreadnought. Guitars were meant to be played and this one needs an owner who will give it the playing time it deserves. Comes with original hardshell case.

Price is $3,650 shipped via FedEx to your door or $3,550 local pickup in Austin, TX. This price is net to me, so if you use PayPal send F&F. Reasonable offers considered. Not interested in trades at this time.

Did I sell you this guitar about 6 years ago ?
Sure looks like one I used to have. I'd love to get it back. Just not cash ready at moment.
Very nice D-28 MM

Yes, it is the same guitar I bought from you. I think you can attest to the tone and playability of this guitar. It’s a good one!

Bump with price drop. Great guitar, limited numbers, Golden Era specs. You won’t be disappointed.

I'm the original owner of this one. It's great. Greater than great.

These are such great guitars! Bad timing for me or I’d pounce. Bump for a fellow Austinite.
