Default Swinging around back to the Taylor fold....

I'd previously had a really large warm spot in my belly for Taylors, particularly Grand Auditorium models. At one point I owned a 324, 414, 524, 614, 714 and 814. However, as these things go, the GAs slowly left my home to make way for more variety. A couple of Martins and a couple of Huss & Daltons made their way into the void, but they too have since left the Porter home for other pastures and more appreciative owners. I made the mistake of going into Guitar Center last Sunday and tried out a few guitars. Martins, Gibsons, a Yamaha or two - yeh, they were all very acceptable; but the Taylors I picked up were like that pair of worn-in jeans that fit just right every time you put them on. I realized that, like it or not, Taylors, Grand Auditorium models in particular, are the Goldilocks of my guitar choice. How many of you can relate to this roundabout tale with any model, size or brand???

I just bought an early 2000s Engelmann/rosewood 710ce to replace one I traded away last year. That tells you something... The individual-string definition is just amazing.

I do not have a roundabout tale, but I certainly love the GA body style, so versatile.

But what I really like is variety.

I am a big fan of Taylor guitars. I have other brands and enjoy them but my Taylors always end up being my go to guitars.

Over the years I have owned over a dozen Taylor’s, from GC’s to GS’s, from minis to T5’s...but after all that time I came back to the “lowly” 314ce, and like the OP said, it just fits like a glove...absolutely love it. The GA size seems to definitely hit the sweet spot.
