This has been a crazy equipment month to 6 weeks for me! Bought a beautiful Gibson '60's Tribute Goldtop Les Paul......could not bond with the neck. Sold it and bought a Fender American Vintage '65 Reissue Strat that is to die for! Then, went in Guitar Center for strings last week and they just got in 3 2014 Fender American Standard Strats. I made the mistake of playing one and fell for the pickups and neck and finish work and bought it! The '65 Reissue is too special to be a gigging guitar, so it will be the studio guitar and the American Standard will be the go to guitar. The new American Standards are way above anything they have done with these guitars in my playing life.

This (these)- A Squier CV60 Strat, bought used off of amazon from a fender dealer. Had some points to use on amazon, so I only paid $195 for it. In perfect condition, not even a scuff on the pickguard plastic. Also picked up a mint green 3 ply pickguard and Dunlop Straploks. On the way- mint green trem plate, Bill Lawrence Keystones and a full wiring upgrade.

In under a month I have added Tele and Epiphone LP. Also as of past Sunday my Fernandes Strat came back into the fold. Bought that guitar in 1998 and left it with a good friend for the past couple years.
So I went from just having one cheap electric (my old Epi Special I, not listed in signature), to having access to four electric guitars.

While doing that I am back to just one acoustic and plan to keep it that way until I have about $2k saved up for an upgrade (will be buying used).
As it is my Seagull came to me cheap, have under $300 in it with nice Gibson hardshell case included. This also includes setup when I first got it. Not too shabby. Should recoup most of that when the time comes.

I've been selling off a lot of my better electrics because I don't play electric much and if I do, it's at home. I decided to build myself something extremely simple, so I'm putting parts together to make what amounts to an Epiphone Les Paul Special 2. The body is from one of those, but the neck is a second market thing with the typical Gibson trapezoids on it. I'm still a bit undecided on pickups, but it might just come down to GFS Dream 180s since they are mild output and with a pedal, I can take them into a meaner realm.

As far as a complete guitar, I recently picked up an Epiphone ES-335 Limited in natural. With coil splitting that actually provides a big difference in tones, unlike some other guitars I have where you almost can't tell if they are in humbucker mode or single coil mode, this 335 really does a great job.

My last electric purchase was an Epiphone "Inspired by John Lennon" Casino. I couldn't be happier - I really really like this guitar. I am looking for a new amp with a smaller footprint than my vintage Ampeg Gemini II - maybe a Fender Princeton Reverb or a small Boogie. We'll see what the future brings.

My latest electric is this M-tone guitar - "Space Rock". I can't put it down once I start playing. I don't have to adjust the tuning very much but it's kind of fun when I do. I like these round tuning keys from Hipshot.

Russ, I would add the word "exciting and eventful" to that statement . Great pickups too.

Great pics, J.R. I remember the build thread. How's the DiMarzio humbucker from Hell pickup?

MF SDOTD G&L ASAT Deluxe about a month ago. Its pretty killer, good balance between all four basic types of electrics. I sold my Ibanez jazzbox and Squier strat.

Thanks, Dru. I really like this pickup a lot. It's got a sweet, articulate tone that works equally well clean or heavily overdriven. The coil tap is interesting because it doesn't change the tone much, it just drops the output a few db, so it's great for jumping between rhythm and lead. The flatwound strings also have such a good feel on this guitar.

Yeah, it will have been with a picture of the amp and my new electric, which beat the amp by about 6 months. It's my only electric gear at the moment so I won't post it again, will seem like a broken record.

It's working out brilliantly at the moment, does everything I need from Jayhawks to The Allmans. Doesn't nail every tone under the sun, just gives me one I can work with on pretty much anything.
