Default Recommendation on 12 string

Hey guys. Trying to get last minute gift for my son. He wants a 12 string. I will be ordering online so won't get to play. I need to stay $600 or under. He wants cutaway with electronics. I see a Tac and Ibanez that look pretty good. Any recommendations?

Thanks Jed

Default 12 string guitars

Seagull make a pretty good 12 string, but I din't think its a cut away. You can try
Breedlove Atlas 12 as well. I have a old Alvarez 2551 that sounds great!

With the cutaway requirement, your choices are narrowed, but you have the correct two choices in your price range. Without the cutaway, the choices open up. Hope you looked at sweetwater's site and of course Amazon.

Hey Jed, Before you buy, look into Tanglewood. These are incredibly made guitars that are mid priced and VERY high quality. I have a Tanglewood parlor and love it. I have no affiliation with this listing, but check this model out on Reverb. This would be a great option for your son. If you need more info about Tanglewood, PM me.

D’Angelico Premier something or other. Musician’s Friend has what looks like a pretty good “open box” deal.
I played a Taylor 150e that was shockingly good for the $$$, but I don’t think any had a cutaway. I believe they are discontinued but some are still around for sale, perhaps in your range
In that price range you are prob going to get laminate, if that matters.

Breedlove.

Much nicer than the Martin or Taylor offering in this price range.

Discovery is their current entry level import series. Pursuit is above that but I don't actually understand the difference. Someone recommended an Atlas above but those were discontinued several years ago.

6 Bills brand new and shipped from MF

I can usually find one (or similar) on my local craigslist for about 450 or so.
