I found a little shack in Cave Creek AZ called Suzzane's Hot stuff. Her original recipe is the tastiest hot sauce I have ever had.
I like heat, but with wonderful flavor. I am glad she ships! Suzanne's Hot Stuff "Chipotle Garlic" HL-7 Suzanne's Chipotle & Roasted Garlic Hot Sauce is a perfect blend of fresh Roasted Garlic and smoky Chipotle Peppers. Prepared with a special-blend of fresh Tomatoes, Onions and Habanero Chiles this sauce is sure to enhance your favorite foods with a "Taste of the Old Southwest".

Have you tried the Cholula Lime? Especially good on chicken and fish.

I was introduced to Dave's Insanity sauce as part of my "welcome to the family" when my late wife and I first wed. Her sister had a bottle and I had to try it. Two drops in soup/chili/Ramen makes it an inferno. Made the fatal mistake of getting some in my eye once...was sure I would go blind...
I agree w/the general consensus that the heat has to add to the flavor. Melinda's garlic is a current favorite, but I'm always trying new ones. We keep a bottle of Frank's Xtra hot in the kitchen... |

You know, if heat is all you want, there isn't anything can beat just good old cayenne pepper from the corner grocery.

My brother lives in Belize, and whenever he visits he brings me some "Marie Sharp's Belizean" hot sauce. It is simply the best hot sauce I have ever tried, with many different flavors and heat levels to accommodate just about any taste bud. My favorite is the Grapefruit sauce, even though I don't even really care for grapefruit - go figure. Also, the smoked habanero pepper sauce is outstanding! They now have a US store on-line:

Not so much hot sauces but warm, I like the Tasbasco green jalapeno sauce, brings out the rich flavour of the peppers rather than the heat, also their smoked Chipotle sauce.
Another line I like is the Nando's (Portugese) sauces, especially the extra hot peri peri which isn't really that incendiary compared to some of the American/Mexican ones. Worcstershire sauces don't normally qualify as hot but Lea & Perrins has considerably more kick than the others, insanely tasty & a high turnover rate in my pantry, saw a Jamie Oliver episode on how they make it.

I'm not suggesting the sauce caused it, but it possibly exacerbated his issues.

I have made hot sauce from home-grown peppers in the past. Easy and awesome. Last couple years it was habaneros, this year I'm trying jalapeño.

I've been using various curry power mixes and masala mixes for decades for flavor, with cayenne (100,000 watt) to bring the heat. Kashmiri Masala and Garam Masala being two of my favorites. Recently, after too much exposure to to much "Hot Ones" videos on Youtube I've started experimenting with hot sauces. So far, fond of Secret Aardvark Habanero. Long liked Tiger Sauce on my eggs.

Texas Pete is my FAVORITE pizza topping. I used to only buy it by the large bottles. It's just soooo much salt. I had to lay off because of the sheer amount of salt I was consuming. I switched to Sriracha or Melinda's instead. Super tasty, but not nearly as much salt.

Tapatio and Sriracha are the house go-tos, but a elderly neighbor who grew up in Vietnam grows his own peppers and makes a hot sauce that’s delicious - it’s quite hot but it’s got an amazing range of flavors - botanicals, florals, citrus, and more. Amazing stuff.
I have suggested he sell it - it’s that good - but it’s just a treat he likes to make for friends. Last edited by M Hayden; 11-05-2020 at 12:07 AM. Reason: Because I apparently can’t spell pepper on the first try |
