Santa Cruz 000 1929 - sold
Downsizing is tough, but necessary as aging takes its toll. This Santa Cruz is absolutely mint. Nary a mark on it anywhere. I listed it on Reverb.com this morning. $2995 plus shipping. Thanks for taking a look.

Open to offers
While I believe the condition of this guitar justifies the asking price, I am aware the market is soft these days. There are plenty of nice used guitars from which to choose. Accordingly, I'm willing to consider reasonable offers (just not ones like I got 30 minutes after listing it on Reverb for 20% less than the asking price). I'm never influenced by listings that state the new price of the same guitar in today's market, but I do find it instructive to see what the competition is asking on Reverb. That makes me think my asking price is not unreasonable. But I'm not wedded to that price. Anyone who has faced the pain associated with downsizing knows flexibility is the key to success. Thanks for hearing my plight. Larry

Thanks.
A kind gesture on your part. Thanks. This is not my first rodeo so I have experience with the dynamics of resales. Patience is a virtue - or so my momma taught me.

I love my SCGC 1929 000. That's a sweet asking price. I think you'll have several people eyeing this guitar before long. I searched 2 years for a used 000. Best on your sale.

you were offended at 20% less than asking? Thats great compared to the 75% off offers I get every time i list something on Reverb Awesome guitar here and wish my wallet were overflowing at the moment. Good luck with the sale!

Amazed more than offended
Not so much "offended" as amazed both by the speed of the offer coming to me and the nature of the offer. Your experience exceeds mine size-wise: 75% less that asking price is an insult. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" is the reasoning, I suppose. I don't know, maybe it has always been this way, but today's soft market in used guitar sales seems to have exacerbated the situation. i.e. "Maybe the seller is desperate so I'll test him with a low ball offer."
Thanks for the kind words about the 000. Downsizing is not nearly as much fun as upsizing. :-)

The SC 1929's are a great instrument (I've owned two) but as all hog they are not everyone's cup of tea. The 00's are more common than the 000's so the resale prices on those tend to be lower since you see them more often. I posted both mine in the mid-$2,000 range. One sold fast for low and the other traded well. The 1929 000 is more rare so a higher asking price is certainly warranted but your pool of interested buyers is also likely to be smaller. I think the guitar is priced well and if patience is used it will sell once it finds the right buyer. I loved both my 1929 00's but just found I was more of a 000 14 fret guy. GLWS!
