I can remember someone playing the guitar on the Howdy Doody show, but I can't remember if it was Buffalo Bob or someone else.

I remember Dave Guard and the Kingston Trio playing Tom Dooley in 1958 when I was 10 years old.

My parents only had two cassettes for the car stereo, a Sounds of the 60s compilation and a Buddy Holly compilation.

My first memory of someone playing guitar is from watching the Monkees on TV in the mid 1960's.

We have a winner. His username is salsarev and he wins the pick for post #46:

"My earliest recollection is of Ricky Nelson playing on the Ozzie & Harriet show."

I am sending him a PM right now, but if you see him around please let me know. Sometimes people don't see the message right away.

Thanks for playing!

Well, it IS the Academy Awards season, and I AM in L.A., so I get it. "I'd like to thank my agent, and my manager, and my personal trainer, and my plastic surgeon, and my dog-walker, and my gardener -- and my five ex-wives."

BTW, folks, coming up next, if I can break it off before the end of the month, a JOHN PRINE TRIVIA CONTEST!

I've got this on the shelf, so it get it on the road to you right away.

Once again, congrats.
