Watching the video took me back in time. In the late 1960's I was visiting a luthier asking questions about his shop and in general guitar making
and in walked the Romeros (Celedonio, Celín, Pepe and Ángel). Celedonio was in to pick up a classical guitar that the luthier had recently finished making for him. Celedonio played some pieces as did his sons (they had dark black hair back then ) I was quite lucky to have been there.

That must have been quite something, hearing the Romeros play up close!
Pepe is 77 now, he said? Boy, we're all getting old..

One of the best presentations for understanding the ultimate state of being while playing guitar. Thanks for posting and many thanks to Pepe Romero.

great and patient delivery
He is so calm, patient and concise with his teachings. I guess we'd all be grateful to just have 1 lesson with him...

Hi Carey,
What a couple of great and enjoyable videos. Finally had time to sit and watch these. (How do you find these gems? ) Along with his stellar playing credentials, Pepe Romero has been a great teacher and had a lot to do as well with the development of players like Scott Tennant and Bill Kanengiser. And probably so many more well known musicians. Thanks a lot for posting. (And Rick, wow. What a nice memory with such a chance encounter).

I'm glad others liked those videos, and you're all welcome. No doubt Pepe Romero made his mark big-tiime on the USC CG guys like Tennant and Kanengiser, and many others. Something I like is that PR gives off an inspiring
"you can do it, too!" vibe, in the videos I've seen anyway; I have not seen him live in any context. Also a line of his has always been stuck with me, and been a real help: "Every morning I have to make friends with the guitar." Even him..
