Default Mc Knight SDG

This wonderful instrument is destined for my daughter and is being crafted by Tim and Mary from the original desires of my wife while meeting them at the Artisan Guitar show.

The SDG, is so named for their Soli Deo Gloria model.

Photos to follow on separate post.

Hopefully 2023 will bring my first ever custom guitar! After playing over 30 years. I have been wanting John Slobod to build me a guitar since 2010 at least. When I met him and played a bunch of his guitars in February of 2011, my fate was sealed! Finally making it happen! It will be a 12 fret 00-28 with a cutaway. 40+ year old Indian rosewood /Red Spruce top. I am so excited!

I'm expecting a build in from Sam Guidry later this year. Cutaway modified dread SG-MD in a Tasmanian blackwood back and sides.

Very stoked to own one and experiment with a new tuning after living in DADGAD for a while. It was good for me to get a feel for his guitars at BIG. I opted for a slimmer neck profile for my hands.

Please describe what stood out for you to go with a build. I want one myself. Michael really does some unique things I have never seen before.

I'm expecting a Custom Iris AB in Reclaimed Redwood and Madagascar Rosewood in 6-8 months.

I'm a sucker for a gorgeous rosette, lol! It also helped that he was willing to build the guitar around CGCGCD tuning.
