That's excellent progress. Nice clean fretting, good strong, confident strumming. Well done.

You're getting the chord changes and the strumming down really well. Now you're trying to mesh some vocals into that and that just takes a lot of doing it until it gets comfortable. Stay with it - it'll come!

Great progress, Dave! You can strum and change chords in time, which is huge. A very good foundation to build on

Well done, Dave. You’re really coming along.
Wagon Wheel is a song you’ve been working on for a while and although the chord changes aren’t too difficult and you’re using a consistent strumming pattern, both which you’ve made great progress on, lyrically, there are a lot of words jammed into phrases in that particular song which isn’t the easiest to tackle, especially for someone relatively new to singing. Moving forward, I suggest trying to ease up on your right hand attack and vocal volume during the verse sections so that when you play the chorus, you can play a little harder, sing a little louder which is a common approach in the delivery of any song. Right now, there’s a sameness all the way through in how you’re playing and singing it. Vocally, it seems that you’re still at a point where you’re concentrating mostly on your chording and strumming such that you’re not yet reflecting the nuances of the actual vocal melody which is hard when you’re focussed on those other challenges. Like I said, you’re doing very well in a relatively short time. To develop your singing, try playing a really simple song where you can strum and play the chords in your sleep and where there’s not a lot of words in a given phrase so that you can focus your ear on the nuances of the vocal melody. Keep at it, you’ll get there. Hope this helps.
