Martin with issues

Yep. Didn’t realize there had been a price increase after I bought my “reimagined” D-28 in 2017. Got mine for slightly less than $2,000...looks like these days may cost slightly above $2,000. Difference between the 2017 price and current price is less than 60 bucks...

I believe you are paying collector prices with this view, not player prices.
GC have used ones in great condition for $1800.00 and you may be able to negotiate a little with them. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/?N...rrencyCode=USD |

The Rules...
The FIRST rule of Guitar Club is: You don't buy a guitar with problems.
The SECOND rule of Guitar Club is: YOU DON'T...BUY...A GUITAR...WITH...PROBLEMS! Failure to adhere to these two rules could cost you much heartache and MONEY. Ask this guy. He used to be rich and good lookin'.

I would not buy a guitar with a "repaired center seam separation" unless they were asking about 1/2 the price of a similar guitar that had not been repaired.

NOTE: If you do this, buy a case with it and if you don't want or need the case, return it when you pick up your guitar. It helps protect it during shipping. |

This is not a cork sniffer guitar, this is a player grade guitar. I like to buy guitars with issues, because they are very cheap. Then I fix the issues and play them. I’ve played a D-28 with a stable top crack and bridge doctor for over 24 years. I paid $750.00. It sounds great and plays great. I’d never get rid of it. It was the first music my son ever heard when his mother and I brought him home from the hospital and I played for him in his nursery.
I concur with $1200 if it plays well and you like it. His asking price is exactly that. If someone learns to do a neck reset they can really really get over on some fine vintage instruments.

$1600 is too much for that D28 with issues, in my opinion. The used guitar market is flooded, at least in my area, and they don't sell very fast unless deep discounts are applied. I've had my newer D28 (with no issues) on Craigslist for about 6 weeks with one nibble and one very lowball offer. You should be able to find a D28 in excellent condition for maybe a couple hundred more than the 1600 asking on that one.
