Fantastic, Toby! One of my favorites. A tribute to Jorma? Brings "Surrealistic Pillow" to mind. Thank you for posting... superb!

Very nice, Toby! I've heard you do "Embryonic Journey" before; this one's a little different, but this just speaks to your ability to improvise on the fly, which is very cool!

Well done!

Great playing, Toby. I had Embryonic Journey in the recesses of my mind and back in the 70s played parts of it from memory on keys, but couldn't remember what it was or where it came from. I had to put up a keys version on soundcloud to ask around to see if anybody recognized it. Oh yeah, Embryonic Journey, Surrealistic Pillow, wow!

I was into 12-string at the time (well, still am), and I spent the next 6 months working on a 12-string version. (I'm really a keyboardist, remember.) Once I saw a youtube how Jorma did it, I was pretty surprised I could come close at all! Here's one of the ones I came up with: Cougar's E-Journey. (I tried a second version with a Kottke intro and a little more accompaniment near the end). Of course, these have none of the improv that you've thrown in there, but hey, there's some percussion! Anyway, thanks for posting!

Nice Toby!

Hard to believe that was the first song Jorma ever wrote. My all-time fav acoustic instrumental!

Great version, recognizable but your own.... Brings back some memories of as Grace put it, when "we were creatures of our time"

And for some reason starting at about 2:08 I was reminded of New Chautauqua by Pat Metheny ...fairly different no doubt but for some reason came to me
