"SNOW & SLEET" : new 12 string original

Hi folks!
Well, every time I pick up the 12 string I think, "I should be playing this more often"! For those with a 12 string in your herd, you might be able to relate.....there are times when, "you just need your 12 string fix"!! LOL!

So, here is "Snow & Sleet", the final track on a new home brewed CD project for 2019 titled, "Reflections on the Day".....these are friends and family projects...... Home recorded but pro mixed/mastered. Most of this project contains tunes I've published here on AGF over the past two and a half years, that have now been upgraded, but this track is new and recent.

Cool, Fred! In fact, so cool it sounded like Snow & Sleet! Brrrrr!!!

We still have some snow on the ground from the snow events we had this last week. I found myself thinking about the heavy snow coming down against the blue green evergreen trees as I listened to your 12-string piece. I know just what you mean!

I like the little bass string runs in there... And you have some very interesting chord sounds in there making a little dissonance. Well done!

Thanks for taking a listen, Glenn! It's great that you were able to form a picture in your mind as you listened through.....that pleases me to no end!!

Glad you enjoyed the bass runs on this one. For some reason those got really caught up in my mind and I found them running through my head constantly as I was working this one out. I literally had trouble turning it off day and night!! LOL!

Thanks so much, Mike! With no lyrics.....we're left to create visions with strings and a melodic pathway.....so glad this brought you some wonderful ones! Love it when that happens!

SoCal, thanks so much for taking a listen!! Yes, the complexity really makes it......if played on the 6 string it's totally underwhelming.....needs the extra strings! LOL!

Your 12 doesn't have that jangly sound that some have. Nice and mellow.

I appreciate it Barry.....thanks for listening! Yes, this 12 is an old Martin D12-20, now 52 years old! Oddly enough I found it at Guitar Center! Was one day on the shelf......It took one strum to get serious about bringing it home! LOL!
The guitar is sitka/ mahogany and this also might be contributing that mellow and deep sound. It's really quite the beast!

Good morning, Larry! Thanks so much for those kind words!! Yes, I felt that the resolve at the end would be a good touch.......confirmed this with the wife

as she has a good sense about that stuff (though she doesn't play), and is happy to convey "that sounds like crap" if she's not feelin' it! LOL!!
