Upon further review:
At around the same price, if I was looking, I'd get the Soundcraft EFX8. Mainly because of mute buttons, channel inserts, and faders. It's a gamble on wether the Lexicon effects are better, but I highly doubt that they're worse. The form factor is smaller, and it seems that the EQ's and pre's are on par with the Allen & Heath mixers.

I use a Behringer Xenyx 1002B to augment the input channels on my Elite Acoustics D6-8 on those rare occasions where the 4 mono channels (and one stereo channel) aren’t enough. I go into the D6-8 stereo channel and use the reverb there since the 1002B doesn’t have its own reverb.
Advantages of the 1002b is that it is inexpensive, battery powered, well built and it sounds great in spite of the sub $100 price. If I put the D6-8 in mono mode I can use the two stereo 1002b channels to handle four mono inputs.

I have the basically identical, at least as far as layout, Soundcraft 124FX. In the location where Behringer says Control Room, Soundcraft says Monitor. The monitor/control room outs have independent volume. I have used that Soundcraft 124FX daily for almost 10 years in the rehearsal room for individual and band rehearsals. I leave it on for weeks at a time and almost never turn it off . It has been solid. Maybe a little noisy at extreme gain settings but not tragic. Can't say for sure the Behringer is the same unit but it is identical in layout and has the same 15 volt 3 pin 2 buss power supply.
I can second the Soundcraft EFX8 recommended earlier. True 8 XLR input channels, decent features, ins and outs, and price and it sounds good too. This is my standard gig board for many years and another solid performer. It gets plugged, unplugged and toted around every gig and everything still works as new. Another unmentioned feature is the size. You'll be hard pressed to find an 8XLR in mixer with channel faders that is more compact. The faders are shorter throw but they function about the same as standard longer throw faders. And it is better to have an extra input or two or three. If things get really serious, I drag out my 16X2 Mixwiz but that almost never happens these days. I am convinced the Soundcraft and A&H units are some of the best at sounding good. Balanced, very natural, warm and unhyped. hunter

Hey Kid- you may be correct, but I think his question is whether it was a monitor out, not whether you could do a separate mix. You would have more experience with this mixer than me and if so I would defer to you, but I think he only needs a monitor send. Control Room is just another form of monitor out, at least on other mixers I have had.
