Default fitting plastic fingerpick

I have a recent interest in fingerpicks and bought some at the local music store. I could not get a comfortable fit despite bending the plastic. I remembered that you can fit a mouth guard by putting in in really hot water to soften it up. I put the offending finger pick in a pan of water to heat up.
The base was down and the tip was out of the water. Right as the water began to boil I took it out, placed it on my finger then ran finger and pick under cold water. It fits now with no discomfort and I can't discern any difference in the sound.

This is probably the standard way to fit a plastic pick, but it was new to me and so cool to me.

I also play with plastic finger picks and use that same method (and have been since 1964)!! Have you noticed that the picks are harder and harder to find? I just purchased 25 thumb picks and 100 fingeroicks in case they go the way of the Dodo!
