I've got two - an all-metal Duolian with a biscuit bridge and a new MJ Franks wood-body spider bridge - it play a whole lot better and, like others say, is warmer, less harsh. equally loud too. The Duolian is built like a tank, good in barroom brawls, harsh sounding (which is best for some pieces) with a neck like a rolling pin. I keep its action higher and use it for slide so the neck is less consideration. It is also definitely heavier.
Playing, I don't notice the weight, but I sure do when carrying them around for any distance. One arm will definitely grow longer. So it seems.

I finally got an accepted offer. Woohoo!!! I ended up buying a used National NRP 12 fret from a dealer out in Seattle. I was a bit nervous with the temperatures WI was having, thinking the neck would crack like a drying log during shipping (given the sub zero temps) but all was well and good. I'll do an NGD in the main forum, but here's a quick pic of the beauty.
