NGD: Emerald X30
I'm lucky enough to own several great X20's and when I saw it announced they were bringing back a redesigned X30 jumbo I was really excited but really did not want to pony up the dough for a new one. I thought I'll wait it out until they start showing up used. Well that day came this past Saturday when I was snooping around eBay very early in the AM. Low and behold this baby showed up at a really low opening bid. I saved the auction and kept looking at it and decided I would probably jump in on the auction that had just started. Then I noticed it was for sale in my own little state of WV so I reached out to the seller asking if he was interested in a cash sale. Once he answered me a few hours later things moved really quick and within a few minutes had struck a deal that was good for both of us.
This guitar is from October 2018 and looks like brand new with zero signs of play or wear. Even got the Coffee mug in the deal along with High Rez pictures. As with all my Emeralds it's an amazing guitar. It has a bigger and bolder voice than my X20's. The neck joining the body at the 12th fret along with the body contours makes this rather large guitar only seem slightly bigger to play. Very comfy for the amount of volume and projection it has. Of course this was not a guitar I needed but I'm glad I took the plunge and reached out to grab this beauty at a tremendous savings. This is an example of why I try to stay away from eBay and other places that make it to easy to acquire more things that I love. I try, but the penetrance is definitely non-zero.
I am pretty sure I played that particular X30. It's a great guitar as are its siblings.

Very nice, and congrats on the new acquisition! I am kinda partial to the red, too.
Sounds like this was meant to be. |

Congratulations on acquiring that beauty.
Question: how does it feel for playing standing up? Do the cutaways work well in that mode? Thx. |

Well I don't play standing up very much anymore but I did throw a strap on it and also one of my X20's to compare. The X30 is still comfy to play when standing but I would have to give a slight nod to the X20 for comfort. I mean it's still not strapping on a Gibson Jumbo or even a Dread. It did not appear to suffer from neck dive so that was also a plus. Being the body is deeper you are just more aware that it's a bigger guitar but still plenty doable for most people I would think.

Thanks for that! “Not like strapping on a dread” gives me perspective.

Just what you need to bring you up to X90... or something like that.
