Anyone from Arkansas???
Just purchased 15ac about 4 miles outside of Havana ( Yell county )
Beautiful piece of land full of trees and has a wet creek running thru it. Will be retiring in 2 years, so that will give me plenty of time to clear part of it for a small cabin and workshop and retire up there. Will be a wonderful change from my current location in south texas. Curious if there are any members in that area. Thanks Have a great day Bill |

My parents retired to Fayetteville and I visited a couple times a year. Sadly they passed in 2001 an 2002. I liked the small town charm with the advantage of University of Arkansas as an anchor to today along with Walmart HQ just up the road and arts and crafts places like Eureka Springs not too far away. I am jaded living at the beach with weather that is close to perfect year round so although Fayetteville turns up best places lists from time to time I have no interest in moving there, mainly due to family issues that I can't forgive or forget about.

Congrats, Bill.
Native Texan so can't answer your question, but have taken several trips up there over the last few years. Looks appealing for TX retirees with land and favorable taxes, etc... One of my high school buds started buying land up there 30yrs ago, has retired and loves it. The cold winters will definitely be a change from Tx...but no hurricanes |

Thanks for the replies! Very excited, close in a couple of weeks and then the fun starts. Only a 9 hour drive from where I'm at in texas. So long weekends and vacation time will be well spent.

Looks like Fayetteville is only a 2 hour drive from Havana. Will definitely have to check it out.

We're in NW Louisiana but used to rock climb at Mount Magazine, not far from Havana. Beautiful country up there, for sure!
