As everyone else has said, these are beautiful, original and so impressive. It looks to me that the headstock faces are spruce, rather than a hardwood. Is that correct? Would love to hear these sometime. I am particularly fond of 00 size guitars and I’m sure these are wonderful. Thanks for the thread! Dave

Thank you Dave! I am glad you enjoy the thread.
You are right, the headstock faces on both guitars are spruce.
My personal preference are also 00 size guitars which makes them even more fun to build.
There are currently two of my 00 guitars at my dealers who have recorded some great videos to get a first impression of them.

This one has Madagascar Rosewood back and sides and an Italian Spruce top:

The other one has the back and sides made of Fiddleback Mahogany and a Swiss moon Spruce top:

The baritone is now strung up as well and already delivered to its happy new owner.

I am really pleased with how everything turned out on this guitar. The slightly dyed maple, the horn and gold accents around the top and the Honduran Rosewood fretboard, bridge, binding with the matching tuner buttons as well as the most important aspect on a guitar, the sound.

Here are some pictures of the finished guitar.

Very nice! That birdseye is awesome.

I love those small fine lines you use in your inlays. Do you just cut those with a saw? Or something like a dremel?

Beautiful work! What is the purfling on the birdseye guitar? Its hard to see clearly in the photos but it looks like the color shifts as it moves around the guitar?

Thank you Will. I cut the fine lines with a dremel in a router base.

Thanks Burton, it is a pleasure hearing this from an inspiring builder like you are!
The purfling on the birdseye guitar is horn from an African cow with gold leaf on the bottom. It is really hard to capture on photos since it is fairly narrow.

Ahh, very interesting! Is the gold leaf there because the horn is translucent? Did it have to be cut to shape or was it possible to bend? What I can see looks very cool.

Beautiful work, Max. At work I regularly loop TNAG videos in the background and occasionally a guitar sounds so good I have to bring the YT window to the front to see what it is...today that guitar was your Moon Spruce/Fiddleback. I was shocked when I saw it was a OO...well done!

Yes, the gold leaf shows the translucency of the horn and also gives it its color. I sometimes use silver leaf as well, depending on which color matches the overall look.
I buy whole horns and do the whole process by myself. This starts with cutting it in smaller pieces followed by cooking and pressing it to get flat pieces that I can sand to an even thickness. After this it is pretty flexible so you don't have to bend it prior to inlaying. If you want to know more about how I process it just send me a message, I am happy to share my knowledge.

Here is one of my inlays with the silver leaf:

To top the whole thing off my client chose a custom Mainstage case that turned out to be a really good match with the overall color scheme.
