Steel String Songs? (Terry Lee Hale)

I always listened to Tool and some other stuff but now i am looking for great steel string acoustic recordings for my stereo, which is harder to find than i thought.
The problem is i don't like the classical country music. Any tips where i can even begin my search? I prefer music with a melancholic touch. It can be instrumental only.

It seems he isn't even well known but he has some songs i just love.
