What's The Best Way To Practice Chords

I have been playing only a few years. When I have struggled with chords, I try to learn them in conjunction with the chord before or after, and play them back and forth, in time. Usually something like four beats C, then 4 beats G, or whatever. Slowly, and making sure the chords are sounding right, then keep playing the changes until I get it.
