Default Robbins R.1CA Italian Spruce/The Fiddleback Mahogany "Northern Lights"

Hi, Folks

I hope you all have been well~ We want to share the masterful work Tyler achieved with this jaw-dropping build.

Our client requested to visualize Tyler's Tattoo 'Northern Light' in a Robbins R1 model.

We always love to see how he unleashes his creativity.
So here begins the journey of this "Northern Lights" R1CA build~

Tyler took a while to come up with the design and Pre-viz with the CAD.

Unfortunately, it is hard to get the proper gradation for the green aurora in the sky with Resin art.
However, Tyler cleverly pulled this one off by using a photo and transparent resin on top of it.

Here is a photo coated with acrylic for a test.

He will crop the photos and frame them in the inlays.

Before the real thing, he wanted to ensure this would work out.
So he created the mock-up for the test run!
Even the mock-ups are so beautiful! My kind of OCD here~

Here are the completed inlay materials.
As a result, the inlay segments got more depth by the ray through the transparent layer.

Default Robbins R.1ca "Northern Lights"

"The Fiddleback Tree" Mahogany is stunningly beautiful and quite scarce. My own journey with Tyler's guitars began with a 2018 Robbins R.1a using the same wood. That led to a commission of another "FBT" guitar made by Mark Hatcher.

The "Northern Lights" theme is unique and beautiful. Thank you for sharing this thread Alan. What a treat!

Here are the sound clips we worked on.
Recommend 1080P or higher for the best sound quality

Green Aurora atmosphere all the way~

What an incredible Journey! More Robbins builds are coming~
Hopefully, we can share them as well!

Cheers

Alan

That is pretty remarkable work. Mr. Robbins has an artistic flare to his guitars unlike any other I know right now.
